Marie Losier was born in France in 1972, and now lives in New York City where she is a filmmaker and curator.

The ‘exquisite corpse’ collaborative SUBVEX experiment.
All filmmakers shoot separate short films, which will eventually be stitched together to form a longer whole. This footage is shot on Super 8mm or regular 8mm film, developed, scanned and finally, edited by each filmmaker digitally. Each contributing filmmaker will shoot two (2) rolls of 8mm or Super 8mm film (depending on the type of camera they receive)...

I like the Bauer. I’ve used one Bauer or another on almost all my super8mm projects. I’ve also used Nizo models, but feel most charmed with the Bauer. It’s just a loyalty thing. The Bauer was my first girlfriend and I get no thrill cheating on her. …

"Super-8 Man" (LA Weekly 2000)
Deep beneath the trumpeting of the digital-cinema revolution, beneath the bone-shaking soundtracks pumped through the Dolby or THX systems of sterile multiplexes and screening rooms, and way under the buzz of the Hollywood PR machine, the sound of lo-fi cinema can be heard in Los Angeles. It’s the steady click-clack-click of Super-8 and 16mm projectors at Flicker, a bimonthly showcase of short films at the Silver Lake rock club Spaceland. ...
